Chile (X units), Colombia (X units), Peru (X units) and Paraguay (X units) held a little share of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Paraguay (+16.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture imported in MERCOSUR skyrocketed to X units, with an increase of 26% compared with 2020 figures. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last nine years. Brazil represented the main importer of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture in MERCOSUR, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was near 46% of total imports in 2021. Colombia (X units) took a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Chile (12%), Peru (9.8%), Argentina (6.4%) and Ecuador (5.1%). Paraguay (X units) took a relatively small share of total imports.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture imports, with a CAGR of +14.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Colombia (+10.5%), Ecuador (+10.2%), Peru (+3.8%) and Chile (+3.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Paraguay and Argentina experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Brazil (+21 p.p.) and Colombia (+4.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Paraguay (-1.5 p.p.), Peru (-2.7 p.p.), Chile (-4.5 p.p.) and Argentina (-5.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), Chile ($X) and Colombia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 69% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Chile, with a CAGR of +10.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
