It was distantly followed by Peru (X units) and Ecuador (X units), together committing a 16% share of total exports. The following exporters - Argentina (X units), Venezuela (X units), Colombia (X units) and Guyana (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +15.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Chile ($X), Brazil ($X) and Peru ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 87% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana and Argentina, which together accounted for a further 12%.

Guyana, with a CAGR of +178.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 50%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Argentina ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guyana (+223.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 216% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles fell modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, faced a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 40%. In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, waning by -9.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 43%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Venezuela ($X per unit), while Colombia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
