The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +85.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 48%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, Brazil (X tons) represented the major importer of road wheels, constituting 44% of total imports. Argentina (X tons) took a 27% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Colombia (8.5%), Chile (7.3%) and Peru (6.7%).
