In value terms, root and tuber exports rose markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a buoyant expansion. Paraguay was the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total imports. Brazil (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Chile (X%), Guyana (X%), Suriname (X%) and Argentina (X%). Uruguay (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to root and tuber imports into Paraguay stood at X%. At the same time, Argentina (X%) and Chile (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Uruguay, Suriname and Guyana experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Brazil (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Among the main importing countries, Argentina, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
