Exports in MERCOSUR
In 2021, overseas shipments of rubber tubing not reinforced increased by 32% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Brazil prevails in exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was approx. 83% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X tons), comprising an 8.8% share of total exports. Chile (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -5.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+26.7%) and Chile (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +26.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Argentina (-8.0%) and Colombia (-9.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Chile (+2.4 p.p.) and Peru (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Argentina saw its share reduced by -2.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest non-reinforced rubber tubing supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with a 7.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Chile, with a 5.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil stood at -7.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Argentina (-12.2% per year) and Chile (+2.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Peru ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (+1.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of rubber tubing not reinforced increased by 19% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons), distantly followed by Argentina (X tons), Chile (X tons), Colombia (X tons), Peru (X tons), Ecuador (X tons) and Guyana (X tons) were the largest importers of rubber tubing not reinforced, together comprising 92% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Guyana (with a CAGR of +6.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported rubber tubing not reinforced in MERCOSUR, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Argentina ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil totaled -7.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Argentina (-2.3% per year) and Chile (+1.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, rising by 9.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Guyana ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+3.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
