Peru (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Brazil (X units) and Uruguay (X units). All these countries together took approx. 39% share of total imports. Guyana (X units), Paraguay (X units) and Argentina (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Chile decreased at an average annual rate of -3.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Guyana (+14.3%) and Uruguay (+4.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guyana emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +14.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Peru (-13.9%), Brazil (-15.4%), Argentina (-24.9%) and Paraguay (-27.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Chile, Uruguay and Guyana increased by +29, +4.3 and +3.8 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Chile ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sailboats for pleasure or sports, with or without auxiliary motor in MERCOSUR, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 23% share of total imports. It was followed by Peru, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Chile totaled -6.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (-24.0% per year) and Peru (-8.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
