In value terms, Brazil ($X), Colombia ($X) and Argentina ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 62% share of total exports. Peru, Guyana, Suriname and Uruguay lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.
Guyana, with a CAGR of +54.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per litre in 2021, rising by 16% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per litre in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Guyana ($X per litre), while Peru ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guyana (+6.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the sixth consecutive year, MERCOSUR recorded growth in overseas purchases of soft drinks, which increased by 36% to X litres in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, soft drink imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +104.2% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Chile (X litres), distantly followed by Brazil (X litres), Guyana (X litres), Suriname (X litres), Colombia (X litres), Paraguay (X litres), Uruguay (X litres) and Ecuador (X litres) were the largest importers of soft drinks, together creating 95% of total imports.

In value terms, the largest soft drink importing markets in MERCOSUR were Chile ($X), Brazil ($X) and Colombia ($X), with a combined 70% share of total imports.
Chile, with a CAGR of +15.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per litre, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per litre in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per litre), while Paraguay ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
