In terms of the main exporting countries, Paraguay, with a CAGR of +16.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Paraguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, soybean oilcake imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +34.1% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Ecuador ($X per ton) and Colombia ($X per ton), while Venezuela ($X per ton) and Chile ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
