Total imports indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +77.3% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, transmission shaft imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Brazil prevails in imports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 71% of total imports in 2022. Argentina (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Chile (X tons) and Peru (X tons). All these countries together took near 21% share of total imports. Colombia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the transmission shafts and cranks, bearing housings and plain shaft bearings, gears and gearing and articulated link chain imports, with a CAGR of +5.3% from 2012 to 2022.
