In value terms, turbo-jet (over X kn) exports shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 417%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Brazil was the key exporting country with an export of about X units, which resulted at 61% of total exports. Argentina (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Chile (X units), Colombia (X units) and Peru (X units). All these countries together took approx. 39% share of total exports.
Exports from Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -31.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Chile (+9.1%) and Colombia (+9.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +9.1% from 2012-2021. Argentina and Peru experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Chile (+11 p.p.), Colombia (+11 p.p.), Argentina (+11 p.p.) and Peru (+5.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Brazil saw its share reduced by -37.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest turbo-jet (over X kn) supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 4.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil totaled -20.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Colombia (+47.3% per year) and Argentina (+35.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -19.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by 214%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Peru ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+35.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in MERCOSUR
Turbo-jet (over X kn) imports soared to X units in 2021, with an increase of 34% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 112% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, turbo-jet (over X kn) imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Brazil was the major importer of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn in MERCOSUR, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was approx. 77% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Chile (X units), mixing up a 17% share of total imports. The following importers - Argentina (X units) and Colombia (X units) - together made up 4.4% of total imports.
Imports into Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -2.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Argentina (+23.1%) and Chile (+22.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +23.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Colombia (-4.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Chile and Argentina increased by +14 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn in MERCOSUR, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Chile ($X), with a 9.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 1.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil stood at +9.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Chile (+5.1% per year) and Argentina (+10.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
