In 2022, Brazil (X units) and Argentina (X units) represented the major exporters of vacuum pumps in MERCOSUR, together amounting to near 73% of total exports. Venezuela (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 16% share, followed by Chile (8.7%). Suriname (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Suriname (with a CAGR of +64.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest vacuum pump supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 82% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with an 8.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Chile, with a 3.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil stood at -1.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Argentina (-12.1% per year) and Chile (-10.0% per year).

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +55.4% against 2020 indices. Argentina (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Chile (X units). All these countries together held near 25% share of total imports. Colombia (X units) held a little share of total imports.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the vacuum pumps imports, with a CAGR of +12.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Chile (+10.2%), Argentina (+8.7%) and Colombia (+4.7%) displayed positive paces of growth.
