The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
Brazil represented the largest importer of video game consoles in MERCOSUR, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 49% of total imports in 2022. Colombia (X units) took a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Chile (16%), Paraguay (5.2%) and Peru (4.9%). Argentina (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the video game consoles imports, with a CAGR of +6.5% from 2012 to 2022. Colombia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Chile (-1.3%), Peru (-5.8%), Argentina (-21.6%) and Paraguay (-24.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Brazil (+37 p.p.), Colombia (+10 p.p.) and Chile (+7.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Argentina and Paraguay saw its share reduced by -11.2% and -35.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest video game console importing markets in MERCOSUR were Brazil ($X), Chile ($X) and Colombia ($X), together accounting for 78% of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Brazil, with a CAGR of +10.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%.
