The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 50%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, video monitor exports shrank to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Chile was the major exporting country with an export of around X units, which accounted for 57% of total exports. Brazil (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 20% share, followed by Peru (8.9%) and Colombia (5.1%). The following exporters - Paraguay (X units) and Suriname (X units) - together made up 6.7% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to video monitor exports from Chile stood at -17.5%. At the same time, Suriname (+25.7%) and Paraguay (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Suriname emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +25.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Peru (-3.2%), Colombia (-3.6%) and Brazil (-6.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Brazil (+10 p.p.), Peru (+5.8 p.p.), Paraguay (+3.3 p.p.), Colombia (+3.3 p.p.) and Suriname (+2.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Chile saw its share reduced by -25.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Brazil ($X), Chile ($X) and Peru ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 92% share of total exports. Colombia, Paraguay and Suriname lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 5.2%.
Suriname, with a CAGR of +22.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -27.9% against the previous year. Export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, video monitor export price decreased by -40.0% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 82%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Suriname ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, imports of video monitors in MERCOSUR soared to X units, growing by 33% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 19% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Chile ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
