The MERCOSUR bracelet market fell to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -7.2% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +13.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest bracelet supplying countries in MERCOSUR were Brazil ($X), Argentina ($X) and Peru ($X), together accounting for 88% of total exports.

Peru, with a CAGR of +12.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, rising by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 71%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per unit), while Uruguay ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (+9.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Bracelet imports fell markedly to X units in 2022, waning by -30.2% compared with the previous year. In general, imports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 135%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bracelet imports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 46%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Brazil represented the key importing country with an import of about X units, which accounted for 62% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Chile (X units), Colombia (X units) and Argentina (X units), together constituting a 27% share of total imports. The following importers - Paraguay (X units) and Peru (X units) - together made up 7.8% of total imports.

Imports into Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -4.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Argentina (+12.5%), Chile (+11.0%), Colombia (+6.7%) and Peru (+6.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +12.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Paraguay (-16.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Chile (+7.8 p.p.), Colombia (+6.2 p.p.), Argentina (+5.3 p.p.) and Peru (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Brazil and Paraguay saw its share reduced by -5.6% and -15.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported watch straps, bands and bracelets in MERCOSUR, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Chile ($X), with a 9% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 5.5% share.

In Brazil, bracelet imports declined by an average annual rate of -6.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Chile (+5.1% per year) and Argentina (+12.5% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, growing by 62% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
