The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 37%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Brazil (X tons) was the key exporter of winding wire for electrical purposes, comprising 78% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Venezuela (X tons), constituting an 18% share of total exports. Chile (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

At the same time, Chile (+26.9%) and Venezuela (+10.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest winding wire supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 89% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Venezuela ($X), with a 7% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil amounted to -3.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Venezuela (+10.0% per year) and Chile (+21.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 6.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 38% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Venezuela ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+1.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
In 2022, the amount of winding wire for electrical purposes imported in MERCOSUR declined to X tons, waning by -10.3% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, winding wire imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Brazil was the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 39% of total imports. Colombia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Chile (X tons), Ecuador (X tons), Paraguay (X tons) and Argentina (X tons). All these countries together took near 52% share of total imports. Peru (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Paraguay (with a CAGR of +6.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Brazil ($X), Colombia ($X) and Chile ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 71% of total imports. Ecuador, Argentina, Peru and Paraguay lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.
Paraguay, with a CAGR of +3.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, rising by 2.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per ton), while Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
