Butter imports into Mexico surged to X tons in 2022, growing by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 118% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, butter imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate perceptible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 116%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The United States (X tons), New Zealand (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of butter imports to Mexico.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +7.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
