The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 148%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, candied fruit imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 100% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Thailand (X tons) constituted the largest candied fruit supplier to Mexico, with a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, candied fruit imports from Thailand exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X tons), with an 18% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Thailand stood at +35.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (+66.9% per year) and the United States (-8.9% per year).
In value terms, Thailand ($X), the United States ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the largest candied fruit suppliers to Mexico, together comprising 93% of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 2.1%.
Taiwan (Chinese), with a CAGR of +43.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average candied fruit import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 5.1% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average import price increased by 34%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
