In value terms, Japan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for horse, mule and donkey meat exports from Mexico, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 26% share of total exports.

In 2019, the average export price for horse, mule and donkey meat amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -20.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 30%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2019, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan totaled $X per ton.
