The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 71%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +21.0% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for mango and mangosteen exports from Mexico, with a 89% share of total exports. Moreover, mango and mangosteen exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (X tons), tenfold.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for mangoes, mangosteens and guavas exports from Mexico, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 9.1% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +8.5%.

The average mango and mangosteen export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a tangible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 53% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.9%).

Imports into Mexico
In 2022, supplies from abroad of mangoes, mangosteens and guavas was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 343%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 895%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Ecuador (X tons) and Peru (X tons) were the main suppliers of mango and mangosteen imports to Mexico.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of +16.1%).
In value terms, Peru ($X) and Ecuador ($X) appeared to be the largest mango and mangosteen suppliers to Mexico.
Peru, with a CAGR of +34.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review.
