Quince Market Size in Mexico

The Mexican quince market contracted sharply to $X in 2021, waning by -17.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last nine years. In value terms, quince exports dropped to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a precipitous descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 96%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, quince imports declined notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Chile (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of quince imports to Mexico.
