In 2021, overseas purchases of tiles, flagstones and similar articles of cement, concrete or artificial stone increased by 71% to X tons, rising for the fifth consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports showed significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of tiles, flagstones and similar articles of cement, concrete or artificial stone soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
