Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, toothpaste exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for toothpaste exports from Mexico, accounting for a 73% share of total exports. Moreover, toothpaste exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Colombia (X tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Panama (X tons), with a 4.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States totaled -4.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Colombia (-9.2% per year) and Panama (+10.0% per year).

The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Panama, with a 2.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States totaled -1.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Colombia (-9.4% per year) and Panama (+4.9% per year).

In 2021, the average toothpaste export price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -25.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, posted a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 79%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
