The Middle Eastern amino resin market declined to $X in 2022, waning by -14.9% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, enjoyed a strong increase. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of amino resins, when their volume increased by 35% to X tons. Overall, exports posted a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 437% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, amino resin exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 467% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented the largest exporter of amino resins, comprising 77% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (9.4%).

At the same time, Turkey (+29.9%) and the United Arab Emirates (+20.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) remains the largest amino resin supplier in the Middle East, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Saudi Arabia stood at +6.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+22.4% per year) and Turkey (+28.3% per year).

In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, rising by 4.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 29% against the previous year. Imports in the Middle East

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of amino resins, when their volume decreased by -3.5% to X tons. Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +42.6% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, amino resin imports expanded to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 76%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Turkey represented the largest importer of amino resins in the Middle East, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 53% of total imports in 2022. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Iran (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 34% share of total imports. The following importers - Iraq (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) - together made up 7.2% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +5.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest amino resin importing markets in the Middle East were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Iran ($X), with a combined 87% share of total imports. Kuwait, Iraq and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.9%.

Among the main importing countries, Iraq, with a CAGR of +11.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 5.3% against the previous year. Import price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, amino resin import price increased by +66.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 58% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
