In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 207% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, ammonium chloride exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 119% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Iran represented the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at 60% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Jordan (X tons) and Turkey (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 37% share of total exports. Israel (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

Iran was also the fastest-growing in terms of the ammonium chloride exports, with a CAGR of +67.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Jordan (+40.7%), Israel (+29.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (+11.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Iran and Jordan increased by +57 and +4.1 percentage points, respectively. Imports in the Middle East

For the third consecutive year, the Middle East recorded growth in purchases abroad of ammonium chloride, which increased by 18% to X tons in 2021. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +104.8% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
