The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Bahrain (X tons) represented the main exporter of aluminium alloy wire, mixing up 55% of total exports. Egypt (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 31% share, followed by Oman (6.4%) and Turkey (4.6%). The United Arab Emirates (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +16.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest aluminium alloy wire supplying countries in MENA were Bahrain ($X), Egypt ($X) and Turkey ($X), together accounting for 91% of total exports. Oman and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.1%.
Oman, with a CAGR of +13.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 14%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, the amount of aluminium alloy wire imported in MENA fell notably to X tons, dropping by -15.7% compared with 2021. Overall, imports saw a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, aluminium alloy wire imports expanded to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Turkey (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) were the major importers of aluminium alloy wire in 2022, accounting for approx. 28% and 21% of total imports, respectively. Saudi Arabia (X tons) took a 9.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Egypt (8.5%), Bahrain (7.5%), Tunisia (5.7%), Algeria (5.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (4.8%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Bahrain (with a CAGR of +12.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported aluminium alloy wire in MENA, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Morocco ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Egypt, with a 7.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey amounted to +8.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Morocco (-2.8% per year) and Egypt (-10.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 23% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
