In 2021, supplies from abroad of cyclohexanone and methylcyclohexanones decreased by -7.2% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Overall, imports, however, posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 90%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cyclohexanone and methylcyclohexanones imports rose to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Israel was the main importer of cyclohexanone and methylcyclohexanones in MENA, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 62% of total imports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 13% share, followed by Turkey (9.7%), Iran (6.6%) and Egypt (5.9%).
