Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +47.9% from 2012-2021. The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Turkey (+6.2 p.p.) and Morocco (+3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-7.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest driving and non-driving axle supplier in MENA, comprising 89% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Morocco ($X), with a 5.7% share of total exports.

In Turkey, driving and non-driving axle exports expanded at an average annual rate of +8.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Morocco (+33.1% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+0.7% per year).

While the share of Turkey (+13 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+8 p.p.) and Morocco (+3.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Saudi Arabia (-5.1 p.p.), Iran (-5.2 p.p.) and Egypt (-12.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 9.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Egypt, with an 8.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey stood at +1.7%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+5.0% per year) and Egypt (-1.2% per year).
