The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Tunisia ($X) remains the largest glass electrical insulator supplier in MENA, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 5.6% share.

In Tunisia, glass electrical insulator exports increased at an average annual rate of +41.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+1.6% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-6.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, growing by 79% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted a buoyant increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per unit), while Israel ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tunisia (+10.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, imports of glass electrical insulators in MENA fell dramatically to X units, shrinking by -15.2% compared with 2020. Overall, imports saw a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 147% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
