The average oil crops yield totaled X tons per ha in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year's figure. Overall, the yield, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the oil crops yield attained the maximum level at X tons per ha in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the yield remained at a lower figure. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.

The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, oil crops exports stood at $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Turkey (X tons) was the largest exporter of oil crops (primary), constituting X% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Egypt (X%). Israel (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to oil crops exports from Turkey stood at X%. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Egypt (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Israel (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The export price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Oil crops imports rose significantly to X tons in 2022, growing by X% compared with 2021. In general, imports saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, oil crops imports stood at $X in 2022. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Egypt (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the largest importers of oil crops (primary) in 2022, accounting for near X% and X% of total imports, respectively. Iran (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Algeria (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports. Tunisia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Algeria, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by X%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
