In value terms, plastic self-adhesive plate exports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 24%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) was the main exporter of plastic self-adhesive plates, sheets and other flat shapes, comprising 42% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Israel (X tons), together committing a 50% share of total exports. Lebanon (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bahrain (with a CAGR of +29.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($X), Israel ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 83% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Bahrain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

The export price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Export price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, plastic self-adhesive plate export price increased by +47.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 28%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+7.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Israel (X tons), Morocco (X tons), Tunisia (X tons), Iran (X tons), Jordan (X tons), Qatar (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -1.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Jordan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
