Israel dominates exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 87% of total exports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to radar apparatus exports from Israel stood at +6.2%. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+12.4%) and the United Arab Emirates (+9.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +12.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Turkey (-1.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (-2.3 p.p.) decreased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest radar apparatus supplier in MENA, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with an 8.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 6.9% share.
In Israel, radar apparatus exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+1.9% per year) and Turkey (-8.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, declining by -55.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 222% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Israel ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (-2.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, approx. X tons of radar apparatus were imported in MENA; growing by 166% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, radar apparatus imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 135%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Algeria (X tons) represented the key importer of radar apparatus, achieving 37% of total imports. Morocco (X tons) took an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (16%) and Saudi Arabia (14%). The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Oman (X tons) and Israel (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to radar apparatus imports into Algeria stood at +9.8%. At the same time, Morocco (+30.0%), Turkey (+21.1%) and Israel (+10.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +30.0% from 2012-2021. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Oman (-4.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (-26.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Algeria, Morocco and Turkey increased by +22, +16 and +14 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest radar apparatus importing markets in MENA were Algeria ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Morocco ($X), together comprising 64% of total imports.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +20.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -21.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 77%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Algeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
