The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

It was distantly followed by Israel (X units), Iraq (X units) and Algeria (X units), together creating a 35% share of total imports. Morocco (X units), Kuwait (X units) and Libya (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of toilet and kitchen linen. Iraq (+11 p.p.), Israel (+6.3 p.p.) and Morocco (+2.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Algeria and the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -2.5% and -17.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported toilet and kitchen linen in MENA, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Iraq ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Israel, with a 13% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, toilet and kitchen linen imports increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Iraq (+27.3% per year) and Israel (+7.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
