In value terms, Turkey ($X), Iran ($X) and Israel ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 77% share of total imports. The United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon and Syrian Arab Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Iraq, with a CAGR of +10.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, falling by -27.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 33%.
