Base Station Market Size in the Middle East

For the fourth consecutive year, the Middle Eastern base station market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -27.5% to $X in 2021. In general, consumption saw a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, base station production declined to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +4.7% against 2017 indices. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, base station exports dropped to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a deep downturn. The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) represented roughly 87% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Oman (X tons), mixing up a 7.2% share of total exports. Kuwait (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Export price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, base station export price increased by +3.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 51%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.

Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, base station imports reduced notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The purchases of the five major importers of base stations, namely Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Oman, represented more than two-thirds of total import.
