In value terms, exports of beauty, make-up and skin care preparations expanded to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 29% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) represented the major exporter of beauty, make-up and skin care preparations, making up 46% of total exports. Turkey (X tons) held a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Israel (21%). Oman (X tons), Lebanon (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +47.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 15%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Iraq (with a CAGR of +17.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest beauty, make-up and skin care preparations importing markets in the Middle East were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Turkey ($X), together accounting for 66% of total imports. Kuwait, Israel, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain and Yemen lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.
Iraq, with a CAGR of +23.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while Yemen ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
