In 2022, Israel (X tons) was the key exporter of blow lamps, making up 76% of total exports. Turkey (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons). All these countries together held near 23% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (-1.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2022, overseas purchases of blow lamps decreased by -1.4% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 73%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, blow lamp imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 75% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together constituting 77% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Israel (X tons), generating a 6.8% share of total imports. Kuwait (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Oman (X tons) and Yemen (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +58.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Turkey ($X) and Israel ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 86% of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Turkey, with a CAGR of +37.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -11.1% against the previous year. Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by 49% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Yemen ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
