Bumper Market Size in the Middle East

In 2022, the Middle Eastern bumper market was finally on the rise to reach $X after two years of decline. In general, consumption, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 51%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) represented the largest exporter of bumpers, achieving 75% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), creating a 21% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to bumper exports from Turkey stood at +7.7%. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+9.4%) and the United Arab Emirates (+6.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +9.4% from 2012-2022. From 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 15%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then plummeted in the following year.

The following importers - Iran (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) - each finished at a 7.5% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Israel (with a CAGR of +9.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest bumper importing markets in the Middle East were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Turkey ($X) and Israel ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports.

Israel, with a CAGR of +12.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+3.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
