Carbon brush imports soared to X tons in 2021, increasing by 17% against 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep setback. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Iraq (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 7.4% share, followed by Israel (5%). The following importers - Jordan (X tons), Qatar (X tons) and Lebanon (X tons) - together made up 7% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Jordan (with a CAGR of +26.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest carbon brush importing markets in the Middle East were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Iran ($X), together comprising 73% of total imports. Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar and Lebanon lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, carbon brush import price increased by +37.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 43%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
