The following exporters - the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Bahrain (X units) - each amounted to a 7.4% share of total exports.

Exports from Turkey decreased at an average annual rate of -36.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+91.2%) and Bahrain (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +91.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-13.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Saudi Arabia (+13 p.p.), Bahrain (+3.6 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+3.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Turkey (-20.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest centrifugal clothes-dryer supplier in the Middle East, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Saudi Arabia ($X), with an 8.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Bahrain, with a 2.6% share.

In Turkey, centrifugal clothes-dryer exports shrank by an average annual rate of -35.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (+90.8% per year) and Bahrain (-2.6% per year).

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Jordan ($X), Qatar ($X) and Iraq ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 12% share of total imports.

Jordan, with a CAGR of +29.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -28.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 152% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then contracted notably in the following year.
