Overall, exports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware exports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +29.5% against 2020 indices. The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 9.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, after three years of decline, there was growth in purchases abroad of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures, when their volume increased by 1.6% to X units. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware imports rose markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep setback. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
