Chandelier Market Size in the Middle East

After five years of growth, the Middle Eastern chandelier market decreased by -33.4% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate significant growth. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

Chandelier Production in the Middle East

In value terms, chandelier production reduced rapidly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, posted prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the production volume increased by 84% against the previous year. Exports by Country

Turkey dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 81% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), committing a 9.8% share of total exports. The following exporters - Israel (X units), Lebanon (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units) - each recorded a 5.3% share of total exports.

From 2020 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to chandelier exports from Turkey stood at -1.2%. At the same time, Israel (+10.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +10.2% from 2020-2022. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Lebanon (-9.2%) and the United Arab Emirates (-12.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2020 to 2022, the share of Turkey increased by +2.8 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -13.8% against the previous year. Over the last two years, it increased at an average annual rate of +7.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 35%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then contracted in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Israel ($X per unit) and Saudi Arabia ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) and Lebanon ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+10.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the Middle East

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of chandeliers increased by 30% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 75%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chandelier imports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X units) was the main importer of chandeliers, generating 37% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Qatar (X units), Israel (X units) and Iraq (X units), together achieving a 46% share of total imports. The following importers - Kuwait (X units), Turkey (X units) and Jordan (X units) - each resulted at a 12% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to chandelier imports into the United Arab Emirates stood at +15.5%. At the same time, Iraq (+30.8%), Qatar (+17.9%), Jordan (+15.1%), Israel (+14.5%) and Kuwait (+9.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +30.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Turkey (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Iraq (+10 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+7.1 p.p.), Qatar (+5.7 p.p.) and Israel (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Turkey (-18.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported chandeliers in the Middle East, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Iraq, with a 13% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, chandelier imports increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Israel (+6.2% per year) and Iraq (+21.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, waning by -25.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 74%.
