Bahrain dominates exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. 90% of total exports in 2021. Saudi Arabia (X tons), Yemen (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.
Exports from Bahrain increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Yemen (+22.5%), the United Arab Emirates (+18.7%) and Saudi Arabia (+8.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Yemen emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +22.5% from 2012-2021. Saudi Arabia (-1.8 p.p.) significantly weakened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Bahrain ($X) remains the largest crab and crab meat supplier in the Middle East, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 4.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 3.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Bahrain amounted to +11.6%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+17.3% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+3.6% per year).
