Dairy Machinery Market Size in the Middle East

In 2022, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in the Middle Eastern dairy machinery market, when its value decreased by -6% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Dairy Machinery Production in the Middle East

In value terms, dairy machinery production fell to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the production volume increased by 71% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in the Middle East

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of dairy machinery, when their volume decreased by -51.4% to X units. Overall, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 174%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then fell sharply in the following year.

In value terms, dairy machinery exports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Turkey (X units) was the major exporter of dairy machinery, constituting 79% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), making up a 16% share of total exports. Iran (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +13.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+18.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +18.3% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Iran (-3.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Turkey and the United Arab Emirates increased by +9.7 and +6.4 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest dairy machinery supplier in the Middle East, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.

In Turkey, dairy machinery exports increased at an average annual rate of +15.3% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+13.6% per year) and Iran (-8.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 95% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight curtailment. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+1.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in the Middle East

In 2022, purchases abroad of dairy machinery increased by 34% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. In general, imports recorded a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 175% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dairy machinery imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 65% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The purchases of the four major importers of dairy machinery, namely Qatar, Iraq, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Iran (X units) and Israel (X units), together generating a 15% share of total imports. Oman (X units) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Qatar (with a CAGR of +65.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest dairy machinery importing markets in the Middle East were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Iraq ($X), together accounting for 58% of total imports. Israel, Qatar, Iran and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

Among the main importing countries, Qatar, with a CAGR of +43.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 9.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 86%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Qatar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
