Domestic Toaster Market Size in the Middle East
The Middle Eastern domestic toaster market shrank to $X in 2022, waning by -8.3% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 60%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, domestic toaster exports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +21.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 29%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Turkey represented the major exporter of domestic electric toasters in the Middle East, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was approx. 65% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), committing a 32% share of total exports.
Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the domestic electric toasters exports, with a CAGR of +11.8% from 2012 to 2022. The United Arab Emirates (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Turkey increased by +41 percentage points.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest domestic toaster supplier in the Middle East, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 21% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey totaled +7.6%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, rising by 4.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 15%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (-1.2%).
Domestic Toaster Imports
Imports in the Middle East
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of domestic electric toasters, when their volume decreased by -15.6% to X units. Total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.4% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, domestic toaster imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates was the largest importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 53% of total imports. Iraq (X units) took a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Israel (8.5%), Turkey (8.5%) and Kuwait (4.9%). Qatar (X units) and Iran (X units) held a little share of total imports.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Iraq (+39.0%), Qatar (+6.5%) and Israel (+5.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +39.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kuwait (-1.9%), Turkey (-3.1%) and Iran (-15.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Iraq and Israel increased by +15 and +3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported domestic electric toasters in the Middle East, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Iraq ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United Arab Emirates stood at +2.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Iraq (+36.2% per year) and Turkey (+1.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, waning by -25.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kuwait (+6.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
