Ecg Market Size in the Middle East

In 2021, after seven years of growth, there was significant decline in the Middle Eastern ECG market, when its value decreased by -13.4% to $X. Overall, consumption continues to indicate prominent growth. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, ECG production dropped significantly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the production volume increased by 74% against the previous year. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +6.8% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-1.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (+5.8 p.p.) and Israel (+4.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-5.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the largest ECG supplying countries in the Middle East were Israel ($X), Turkey ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a combined 94% share of total exports.

Israel, with a CAGR of +9.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -11.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 33%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+4.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in the Middle East

In 2021, ecg imports in the Middle East skyrocketed to X units, picking up by 44% against the previous year. Overall, imports, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 86% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ECG imports stood at $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 18%. The purchases of the one major importers of electro-cardiographs, namely Qatar, represented more than two-thirds of total import.
