First-Aid Kit Market Size in the Middle East

The Middle Eastern first-aid kit market shrank to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -6% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last decade. Exports in the Middle East

After two years of decline, shipments abroad of first-aid boxes and kits increased by 21% to X tons in 2022. Total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 27%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, first-aid kit exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a slight downturn. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. 92% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), constituting a 7% share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the first-aid boxes and kits exports, with a CAGR of +11.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+11.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Turkey and the United Arab Emirates increased by +36 and +2.7 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest first-aid kit supplier in the Middle East, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 3.9% share of total exports.

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 46% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a deep setback. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+0.9%).

Imports in the Middle East

In 2022, imports of first-aid boxes and kits in the Middle East skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 16% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, first-aid kit imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates was the main importer of first-aid boxes and kits in the Middle East, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was approx. 39% of total imports in 2022. Kuwait (X tons) held a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (11%), Qatar (7.8%), Iraq (5.5%) and Yemen (4.6%). The following importers - Oman (X tons), Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) - together made up 11% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to first-aid kit imports into the United Arab Emirates stood at -5.4%. At the same time, Kuwait (+25.6%), Qatar (+13.2%), Turkey (+12.6%) and Yemen (+6.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kuwait emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +25.6% from 2012-2022. Syrian Arab Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Bahrain (-2.1%), Iraq (-2.6%) and Oman (-10.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kuwait (+15 p.p.), Turkey (+8.3 p.p.), Qatar (+6.2 p.p.) and Yemen (+2.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Oman (-5.6 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (-10.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported first-aid boxes and kits in the Middle East, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Kuwait, with a 12% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, first-aid kit imports contracted by an average annual rate of -5.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+10.0% per year) and Kuwait (+18.3% per year).

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 19% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable shrinkage.
