Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Jordan (X tons) and Israel (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together making up 82% of total exports. Kuwait (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 8.7% share, followed by Turkey (6.2%). Iran (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Israel (with a CAGR of +148.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, Israel ($X), Jordan ($X) and Iran ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 96% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Iran, with a CAGR of +24.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, falling by -37.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed temperate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 217%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per ton), while Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, supplies from abroad of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines decreased by -20.5% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 108%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 62%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In 2021, Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Israel (X tons) were the main importers of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines in the Middle East, together finishing at near 66% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Iraq (X tons), making up a 9% share of total imports. Qatar (X tons), Palestine (X tons), Jordan (X tons), Lebanon (X tons), Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines in the Middle East, comprising 49% of total imports.
