Turkey was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which resulted at 60% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), comprising a 33% share of total exports. Bahrain (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +16.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest furnace burner supplier in the Middle East, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 21% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey stood at +14.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+7.5% per year) and Bahrain (+39.5% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, falling by -18.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 22%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted notably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, furnace burner imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Turkey was the main importer of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in the Middle East, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 52% of total imports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Iraq (X tons) and Iran (X tons). All these countries together held near 31% share of total imports. The following importers - Saudi Arabia (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Oman (X tons) - each reached an 8% share of total imports.

Imports into Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Iraq (+5.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +5.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Oman (-1.3%), the United Arab Emirates (-2.1%), Israel (-5.5%), Iran (-7.0%) and Saudi Arabia (-26.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+25 p.p.), Iraq (+5.4 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+2.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Iran and Saudi Arabia saw its share reduced by -1.8% and -28.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in the Middle East, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Iraq, with a 6.8% share.

In Turkey, furnace burner imports increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (+3.2% per year) and Iraq (+2.4% per year).
