In value terms, plastic furniture exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine years. Israel (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 33% share, followed by Jordan (5.3%) and the United Arab Emirates (4.6%). Lebanon (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, growing by 9.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 13%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of furniture of plastic increased by 8.1% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plastic furniture imports expanded to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 7%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X units), Iraq (X units), Kuwait (X units), Israel (X units) and Oman (X units) represented roughly 76% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Lebanon (X units), comprising a 4.8% share of total imports. Turkey (X units), Bahrain (X units) and Yemen (X units) took a little share of total imports.
