In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, marble granules and powder imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 168% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Iraq (X tons), Israel (X tons), Qatar (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented roughly 88% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kuwait (X tons), committing a 7% share of total imports. Oman (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
